- v.0.8.0b:
Added a background simulation system that allows events involving various NPCs to play out behind the scenes regardless of the player’s current activity.
The player may occasionally witness NPC simulation events if they are in the right place at the right time.
Simulation events are also surfaced on Elkbook, where NPCs post updates and status changes about their daily lives.
Within the background simulation, NPCs can form friendships, become enemies after arguments, build romantic and sexual relationships, and more. NPC relationships are now constantly evolving.
Depending on their relationship with the player, NPCs may approach the PC for advice on important life choices, such as whether to befriend someone, start dating, or break up.
NPCs will gradually gain skills and new inclinations through their experiences in the background simulation, just as the player character does.
Implemented Relationship Health, a semi-random noise-based system that simulates the natural ups and downs of relationships. Low relationship health increases the chance of arguments and breakups, while making up can restore it.
NPCs who cheat will typically have one regular affair partner. If their original relationship ends, this person will usually become their next official partner.
Revamped the View Person dialog for improved readability and organization, now featuring clear subsections under tabs.
Added the NPC’s full Elkbook profile, including their recent posts, to the View Person dialog.
Added a new summer month called Solune to balance the calendar. The year now consists of four seasons with two months each.
Added a Spouse relationship type (currently available only to NPCs).
The “married professor” archetype now properly generates an actual spouse townie. Several other townies can now also generate with spouses.
Added advanced versions of all existing courses for Years 2, 3, and 4.
Rearranged professor course assignments and allocated the new advanced courses accordingly.
The academic year now progresses properly: At the start of each new year, the player advances into higher-level courses, can choose new electives, and gains the option to change majors in Year 2.
NPC students also advance in year and move into appropriate new courses.
Senior students will now “graduate” — they are either converted into townies or removed from the game. NPCs the player has shown care for (favoriting them is sufficient) will be converted into townies instead of removed.
New freshmen are generated to replace graduating seniors.
Sports teams will automatically select new quarterbacks, captains, etc., if previous ones graduate, with incoming freshmen filling remaining roster spots.
Year 4 currently loops for the player similarly to Year 1. This will be expanded in future updates to allow the player character to transition into a townie.
Pregnancy system is now nearly fully implemented. NPCs who have unprotected sex may become pregnant based on fertility levels, birth control use, and other factors. This also applies to the player character.
Added fertility and pregnancy duration sliders. Pregnancy can also be completely disabled under Content Options.
While some NPCs actively want to start a family, most view pregnancy as inconvenient and will usually try to avoid it.
Added the MoonPhase app to track fertility cycles for PCs who can become pregnant.
Added various events that occur throughout a pregnancy for both the PC and NPCs.
Added a dialogue option to inform NPCs that you’re pregnant, including the choice to tell a partner it’s theirs or admit you’re unsure.
Added an Offspring tab in the Character menu to track children (only visible once you have offspring).
Implemented trimester-specific changes to need decay and other effects during pregnancy.
Added pregnancy checkups at the local clinic, where you can discover if you’re having twins (rare) and have a chance to learn the baby’s sex.
Added a “going into labor” sequence for the PC or a pregnant partner, including the opportunity to name the baby.
The PC’s baby can currently be sent home to their parents or put up for adoption. This currently concludes the pregnancy content.
Sending a baby home will result in higher weekly payments.
Fixed issues with bell curve NPC stat calculation. NPCs can now occasionally have more extreme stat values.
Added new inclination: Brat — for submissive characters who are defiant and enjoy being disciplined.
Added new inclination: Soft Dom — for dominant characters who are gentle with their partner and prioritize their pleasure.
Added Shy inclination, which makes it significantly harder for NPCs to initiate conversations.
Added Nature Prevails inclination — NPCs with this trait prefer not to interfere with pregnancy. This replaces Chaste in relevant checks.
Possessing the Loner inclination no longer automatically classifies an NPC as shy.
NPC archetypes are now less rigid. Instead of every NPC of the same archetype sharing nearly identical skills and inclinations, they are now split into sub-archetypes for greater variety.
An NPC’s college major and relationship status are now separate learnable facts. They can be discovered through normal socialization or asked about directly.
Coaches are now treated the same as professors regarding dating and relationship mechanics.
NPCs in a D/s relationship can now receive all the same clothing-related sub rules as the PC, including the ability to give them a collar.
Added new “Soft Dom” sub rules focused on ensuring the dominant takes care of their submissive’s basic needs (eating properly, getting enough sleep, etc.).
Added the ability to check your submissive for rule violations and administer punishments when rules are broken (contributed by CGeorge).
Added a Location Population Cap slider. This sets a maximum number of NPCs that can be present in one location at a time, improving performance on slower devices and reducing overcrowding. Can be set to Unlimited.
NPCs will now sometimes stay home at night instead of always going out, with different possible activities based on their interests.
Added several new starting options.
Added several new distinguishing marks.
The prologue is now slightly less linear.
Added many new dialogue lines (contributions from Arcus_Caelestis, General Tacticus, and Starlight).
Made computer-based art actions available in the Chamberlain Hall computer lab, including photo editing software.
Added a dropdown menu to the Phone button in the left sidebar for quick access to phone functions.
Made Reminders and Calendar phone functions available during events via the dropdown menu.
We especially recommend a premium subscription to FreeDownloads.com for large files.
There are very affordable plans that will allow you to download at good speeds.
